SUMMARY:Metro Parks Winter Hike Series
DESCRIPTION:Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks invite you to participate in their Metro Parks Winter Hike Series. Featuring different parks from December through February. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Winter Hike Series kicks off on December 1 at Blacklick Woods Nature Center from 5 pm to 7 pm for hot chocolate and a walk under twinkling lights. \n\n\n\nThroughout December\, visitors can walk under the lights at Highbanks\, Battelle Darby Creek\, Blacklick Woods\, Homestead\, and Inniswood Gardens. The lights go off at 8 pm. There are also special evening lantern walks at Chestnut Ridge in early December. \n\n\n\nJanuary features for 2026: Clear Creek\, Prairie Oaks\, Rocky Fork\, Scioto Audubon\, Scioto Grove\, Sharon Woods\, Slate Run\, Walnut Woods\, and Blendon Woods Metro Parks. Visit the website to see the times that refreshments are offered at each location. \n\n\n\nFebruary focuses on Glacier Ridge\, Pickerington Ponds\, Quarry Trails\, and Three Creeks Metro Parks. Refreshments will be available at the listed times. \n\n\n\nAt the end of February\, hike the paths of Blacklick Woods Golf Course to collect your Winter Hike patch if you have your card stamped from seven of the listed places at the shown times. SUMMARY:Christmas Cave at White Gravel Mines
DESCRIPTION:The Christmas Cave at White Gravel Mines is open each Friday and Saturday evening for five weekends in November and December. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Christmas Cave tells the story of the birth of Jesus\, and the Easter Cave in the Spring tells the rest of the story. \n\n\n\nAll ages are welcome! Enjoy the beautiful lights\, see the story of Jesus\, and try some delicious barbecue. No pets allowed. RSVP for bus groups. \n\n\n\nIt is a self-guided tour that involves a lot of walking. The path is clearly marked\, and you can visit at your own pace. Benches are available throughout the display. SUMMARY:Vino the Way - Mapleside Farms
DESCRIPTION:Vino the Way is a wine and beer-tasting adventure through the corn maze at Mapleside Farms\, Brunswick\, Ohio. Held each Friday and Saturday from September to the end of October. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt the start of your Vino the Way adventure\, you will receive a tasting box of food to accompany the drinks you will sample. \n\n\n\nThe wine-themed corn maze is a challenging labyrinth to navigate while enjoying wine\, beer\, and food along the way. \n\n\n\nAfter the maze\, visitors are given free entry to Mapleside Farm’s fall attraction\, Pumpkin Village\, where there are orchard tours\, cow trains\, a scenic hayride\, and the longest slide in the US! \n\n\n\nEntrance to the maze closes at 8.30 pm\, and Pumpkin Village closes at 9 pm. \n\n\n\nThis is a rain-or-shine event and is available to over 21s only.

SUMMARY:Wren Wiffleball Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Wren Wiffleball Tournament takes place annually at Wrenway Park in Van Wert County\, on the third weekend of August. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Wren Wiffleball Tournament is hosted by the Wrenway Park Wiffleball Warehouse and is a two day annual event that is great fun for the whole family to enjoy. \n\n\n\nWiffleball is a simplified version of baseball. The lightweight ball has to be hit within a triangle\, and depending on where it lands\, it is scored accordingly. A ball hit outside of the triangle is a ‘foul ball’. The batters do not run\, and the fielders do not chase the ball. \n\n\n\nThere is a reverse raffle that will be drawn throughout the tournament. Visitors can also enjoy a fireworks display\, live music\, food and beverage garden\, a cornhole tournament\, a pie baking contest\, egg toss\, a pie eating contest\, a parade\, and the awards ceremony and Hall of Fame Induction. \n\n\n\nThis event has no website\, so we are linking to their Facebook page below\, where you will find all the details.
