SUMMARY:Appalachian Festival
DESCRIPTION:The annual Appalachian Festival takes place in the business district of New Richmond\, alongside the Ohio River in Clermont County on Mother’s Day weekend. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Appalachian Festival takes over the business district of New Richmond\, creating a ‘Living History’ mountain village\, featuring period re-enactors demonstrating mountain life in the 1800s through dress\, living quarters\, and activities. \n\n\n\nDemonstrations include beadwork\, Native American hand drumming\, basket-making\, broom-making\, and mountain distilling. \n\n\n\nFestival hours are Saturday: 10 am to 10 pm\, Sunday: 10 am to 6 pm. \n\n\n\nUnique hand-made craft vendors and food vendors will be in attendance. \n\n\n\nThe stages will have performances throughout the weekend\, including bluegrass\, strings\, country\, and Appalachian Grass music. \n\n\n\nStorytelling will be along the scenic Ohio River at various times throughout the festival. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDo you have an event that you want to feature (for free) on our VisitOhioToday events calendar?
