The Taste of History event is held in Amherst in mid-June. Enjoy this back-in-time experience focusing on military life through the ages.
The Taste of History is a free event hosted by the Military History Preservation Group, the Lorain County Visitors Bureau, and the Amherst Historical Society.
Sample authentic military rations from different eras. Watch military displays reenacted by more than 200 participants.
Visitors can get samples of period meals from the competing field kitchens.
There are military surplus and historical vendors.
Kids will be kept amused by the hands-on activities available.
