The annual Ashville Viking Festival is a family-fun living history event spanning many time periods. It will take place at the Community Park in Ashville on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28, 2024.
About the Ashville Viking Festival
This festival is not just about Vikings! See living history spanning more than 2,500 years, from Ancient Rome to the Holy Roman Empire and beyond. Camps and displays are set up to show different time periods, where you can see clothing and equipment of the time and interact with the reenactors.
Learn how weapons were developed. Meet craftsmen and authors. Shop Viking-themed merchandise, wood carvings, textiles, leather products, pewter, and more from juried vendors at the Saxon Market.
Enjoy juggling, dancing, fire-breathing, and musical acts. Catch a magic show, or watch birds of prey. There will be hands-on pike training, a squire’s challenge, and a full-contact, armored joust.
Sit down for a tasty feast at Heimdall’s Horn a’ Plenty or Thor’s Feast Hall. Have a coffee, homemade root beer, freshly churned ice cream, kettle corn, and more at the food booths and trucks.
Kids will enjoy face painting, exploring child-sized tents, playing Viking games, being part of a shield wall, throwing axes at a target, and trading with Vikings.
Admission is free, but they ask that you bring a meaningful donation of canned foods.
Please visit the website and/or social media for up-to-date schedules and operating hours for this event.
