The Dayton Holiday Festival is an annual family-friendly event in downtown Dayton that kicks off Friday, November 24th, 2023, and continues through December 31st.
About the Dayton Holiday Festival
The Dayton Holiday Festival features more than a month of family fun and entertainment for free!
The first night is one to remember! The event starts with the Grande Illumination, the traditional lighting of the tree on Courthouse Square.
A parade for children will pass through downtown Dayton with decorated seasonal floats, horses, bands, and drill teams, as well as special holiday treats!
Free games and crafts, live holiday music, and other delightful surprises for the kids will be at the magic fantasy holiday village inside the Stratacache Tower.
At the Junior League of Dayton’s Holiday Adventure, kids can go on an adventure around the festival, visiting all the stops to receive a free book. So much fun in one day!
Throughout December, the family fun continues! Inside the Schuster Center Wintergarden, see Rike’s Holiday Windows, which are reimaginings of the holiday windows that once stood on display at that same downtown corner.
Visit Virginia Kettering’s one-of-a-kind Holiday Train Display that she gifted to the community.
Get in the holiday spirit at lunchtime with the Dayton Holiday Festival’s Noontime Entertainment Program.
Soak up the festive atmosphere downtown while you shop, dine, and explore. The annual Whimsical Windows contest showcases Dayton’s small business owners’ creativity.
The Neon will be showing fun, festive holiday films for the family. Kids 12 and under are free. There is a small charge for adults.
Ice skate at the MetroParks Ice Rink at Riverscape under the covered pavilion. Hot chocolate and other yummy treats will be available. Activities such as lessons and themed skating nights will be held, too.
