The Lorain Winterfest is an annual festival on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25, 2023. It is a one-day festival, but some activities continue until the end of December.
About The Lorain Winterfest
The Lorain Winterfest is a true hometown celebration of the festive season, with events held in many locations throughout the town. Festival goers can expect seasonal fun and events all over downtown Lorain including Veteran’s Park, Black River Landing, and activities for kids at the Lorain County Community College at City Center.
Winterfest kicks off with its annual Lorain Winterfest Parade. The parade travels down Broadway where Santa arrives bringing the holiday spirit with him. It ends at Veteran’s Park where you will find lots of live entertainment, the official Tree Lighting, and Christmas caroling.
Black River Landing becomes the North Pole complete with Santa and live reindeer. Santa continues to make scheduled appearances at Black River Landing until Christmas.
Nearby, at The Black River Transportation Center, Lorain’s Caboose C-3855 is lit with hundreds of lights to celebrate the town’s shared history with the railroads.
You can also check out the International Trees and Trains exhibit there which begins on the day of the Winterfest and continues each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through December.
Lorain County Community College at City Center is a hub of family-friendly things to do. There are tons of activities for kids like games, face painting, crafts, storytime, and a Secret Santa Shop. The City Center will also have live entertainment.
The downtown shops and restaurants have special offers and hours to encourage visitors to stop in, and these run all the way through the holidays.
Please visit the website and/or social media for up-to-date schedules and operating hours for this event.
