Rocky River Stables in Cleveland is managed by Valley Riding Inc. They provide opportunities for children and adults to engage with horses in a metropolitan setting.
The stables are located in the Cleveland Metroparks system, connected to bridle trails along the Emerald Necklace Trail.
Valley Riding provides riding lessons and therapeutic riding lessons, horse boarding, and educational tours.
There are 15 horses with names such as Peanut, Tucker, Honey Buns, Cosmo, and Bumper. Stalls can be sponsored and a plaque is displayed on your stall of choice.
Riders can choose from six programs/lessons:
- Group Lessons – maximum of 5 riders
- Horse Camps – Summer only, for 8-14 year-olds
- Therapeutic Riding – for children and adults with disabilities
- Beginner English Horsemanship – 1-day or 6-week beginner lessons
- Educational Group Tours – maximum of 20 people of any age
- Girl/Boy Scout Group Riding Program – children must be at least 8 years old
