    About the Chillicothe Halloween Festival

One of the main attractions of this festival is the Coffin Races. Teams of 3 to 5 people race their homemade coffins along the street with one team member sitting in the coffin. Teams compete two at a time, racing along the street, and the winner of each round advances to the next round! There is an online registration form to compete in this event.

Take the Ghost Walk self-guided tour around five locations – City Council Building, Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop, Tea of Life Apothecary, Wreck Creations, and Old Capitol Brewing. Be sure to leave yourself enough time for this tour which takes approximately four hours, and be prepared for a wait time at some locations. Tickets are available online.

There is a costume contest – show off your scariest or most original costume. There is a contest for kids and one for adults. The contest categories are Scariest, Funniest, Most Original/Creative, and Best Couple/Group. Entry form is available from the festival website.

The kids can enjoy inflatables, games, laser tag, and more.

The Pumpkin Weigh-Off is on Saturday evening, and the hard stem watermelons and gourds weigh-off is at noon on Saturday.

There will be shows, food vendors, marketplace vendors, and live entertainment. This festival is a full weekend of fun-filled excitement for the whole family!

Please visit the website and/or social media for up-to-date schedules and operating hours for this event.
