Otway Bridge is a historic landmark built in 1874 and is Scioto County’s last remaining covered bridge. It was restored in 2014.

During the holiday season, Otway Bridge transforms into a festive wonderland. Adorned with twinkling lights and seasonal decorations, it offers a magical experience for visitors. Walking or driving through this illuminated structure, one can’t help but feel a sense of enchantment, making it a perfect backdrop for holiday photographs and memorable evening strolls. The bridge’s transformation into a festive spectacle adds a unique charm to the small-town holiday celebrations in Otway.
Another newer annual event takes place in December. The “Light of the Bridge” parade and drive-thru is something everyone can participate in. You can decorate your vehicle to join in the parade or even pull a float.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the parade, and then they will pass out candy canes to children at the bridge. Two hundred luminaries will light the way from the parking lot at Brush Creek Township Community Park. You can park there after the parade and follow the trail back to the bridge on foot.

I truly enjoyed my visit to Otway Bridge. If you will be in the area in December, I suggest seeing the bridge right before dusk so that you can watch the bridge transform into a winter wonderland. The lights are the bridge are a sight to see!
