Outdoor Ice Skating in Ohio
When it comes to outdoor ice skating in Ohio many of the outdoor ice skating options will not open until the weather has settled into a consistent pattern of cold. They have to keep that ice frozen after all. When it comes to the outdoor ice skating rinks in Ohio, be sure to double-check website times and call ahead to make sure they are open. As we know, Ohio weather can change quite quickly!
Remember, safety first. DO NOT skate on any ponds that have signs up saying the pond is closed or not to skate.
Coffman Park
Hours vary for this outdoor ice skating rink. It is a park in Dublin, run by the city. Typically it is open on weekdays after school starting at 3 pm and open most weekends from 10 am to 8 pm. There are restrooms available on-site, but there is no skate rental. You will need to bring your own ice skates. There are generally signs posted with open hours at the pond, but you can also check the City of Dublin’s website or give them a call.

Orange Township Glen Oak Park
This outdoor ice skating pond is located at Glen Oak Park in Lewis Center. The pond is less than 2 feet deep and is monitored regularly for ice thickness and safety. The pond was designed specifically for ice skating. There are restrooms located within the park, but no skate rental, you will need to bring your own ice skates.

Blendon Woods
Blendon Woods is part of the Columbus Metro Parks. It has an outdoor ice skating option. This particular outdoor ice skating rink is about 1 foot deep and about half an acre. You can scout out the pond during the summer (it is dry). There are restrooms located within the metro park, but no skate rental, you will need to bring your own ice skates.

Battelle Darby Creek
This is another amazing metro park that offers great outdoor activities all year round. This outdoor ice skating pond is about 16 inches deep and half an acre in size. There are restrooms located within the metro park, but no skate rental, you will need to bring your own ice skates.

Delaware State Park
This Ohio State Park, offers several winter activities depending on weather conditions, not only can you enjoy outdoor ice skating here, but also ice fishing, sledding, and cross-country skiing! Obetz Ice Rink
The Obetz Ice Rink which is sometimes called, Lancaster Park Ice Rink is open during the colder months but for RESIDENTS ONLY. You must bring proof of residency. Residency is strictly enforced. The cost is free, but there are time limits.

Winterfest at Market Square
The outdoor ice skating rink is open during the Winterfest celebrations in Portsmouth from mid-November to the end of December each year. You can enjoy the ice skating and the wonderland of festive lights, along with all the other activities available at this festival.
