About Fresh Strawberry Picking in Ohio
They say that fruit is ‘nature’s candy’, and strawberries are no exception! They truly are one of nature’s delicacies. Strawberries taste lovely, and they are nothing but good for you. While it is easy to buy Strawberries from the local store, they seem to taste better when you pick your own from a local farm.
In Ohio, the strawberry season typically begins around the end of May and ends either late June or early July. If you want to visit any of the farms listed below, please check out their social media or website to be sure strawberries are in season.

When I go strawberry picking, I always look for the ripest berries by checking the ones at the bottom of the plants – they’re often the sweetest! Also, wear comfortable clothes and bring a hat for sun protection. It’s a fun and rewarding experience, so take your time and enjoy the fresh-picked goodness!
Strawberry Picking in Northwest Ohio
Aufdenkampe Family Farm
While this farm sells different products, strawberries are their main product. You can buy strawberries, or you can pick your own. There is also a farm store selling other seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Strawberry Picking in Northeast Ohio
Fitch’s Farm Market
At this farm, you can pick your own almost everything! Including strawberries, beans, tomatoes, and peppers. There is a minimum quantity for picking. There is also a farm store for more fresh produce.
Maurer Farms
At Maurer Farms, visitors can pick strawberries or purchase a variety of fresh produce from the farm store, such as peaches, sweetcorn, black raspberries, and beans. Open from late May or early June to mid-September for seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Strawberry Picking in Central Ohio
Mitchell’s Berries & Blooms
Mitchell’s Berries & Blooms hold events and offer experiences for the whole family to enjoy. Among other things, visitors can pick daffodils in April, asparagus in April/May, strawberries in May/June, and blackberries in June/July. There is also a gift shop on site.

Doran’s Farm Market
This farm has a vast variety of fresh produce for sale seasonally. Visitors can pick strawberries, sugar snap peas, green beans, tomatoes, and pumpkins. As well as the fresh produce, the market sells Doran’s own-brand preserves, pickles, sauces, syrups, and more.

Jacquemin Farms
Jacquemin Farms is a seasonal farm market providing home-grown and locally-grown fruits and vegetables. This farm’s U-Pick strawberry patch has late-growing strawberries, so check out their well-maintained Facebook page to see when the picking begins!
Jacquemin is open June through October for seasonal activities, as well as strawberry picking. They offer lots of fall fun for both kids and adults.
Strawberry Picking in Southwest Ohio
Irons Fruit Farm
As well as strawberries, at Irons Fruit Farm visitors can pick sunflowers, blueberries, apples, and pumpkins. Each year there is a Corn Roast Festival, and in the fall a 12-acre corn maze adds to the family fun. Check Facebook for dates of all the seasonal u-pick produce.
There is also an on-site bakery and market. The bakery, in particular, is worth a visit as it sells the most delicious apple fritters and donuts. The market offers apple cider, jams and jellies, apple butter, gift packs, and more.
Stokes Berry Farm
There are a few U-pick fruits available at Stokes Berry Farm. Strawberries, of course, are available in season. Stokes keeps their Facebook page updated with dates for both u-pick and the market store fresh produce to purchase.
There is also a fishing lake here that allows ‘catch and release’ fishing.

Strawberry Run Farm
At Strawberry Run Farm you can pick your own strawberries and purchase blueberries. There are also products available such as apple butter, strawberry salsa, and strawberry syrup, as well as a selection of fruit-flavored sodas.

Folck Family Farm
Folck Farm has strawberry picking as well as raspberry and blackberry picking seasons. There is a winery that offers wine tasting and a farm store with more produce.
