About Horseback Riding Hocking Hills
Hocking Hills Horse Rides is based in South Bloomingville. If you are familiar with the Hocking Hills area, this is located near Big Pine Road and Conkles Hollow!
Hocking Hills Horse Rides is a small family business based on a small, quaint farm. This charming place is in Hocking Hills, Ohio.

It is absolutely no secret that I am totally in love with Hocking Hills, and my family and I enjoy everything about the area, including horseback riding. The rescue horses here are very well cared for by a dedicated team of like-minded women. Whatever your level of horse riding, this is always a great experience!
Western Experience
Guests can opt for a ‘Western Experience’. This experience lets you groom, tack, and even feed the horses. While this is an extra experience on top of riding, it is a FREE experience. Visitors should arrive an hour and a half early if it is the early ride. If the visitor has opted to go on the afternoon ride, you are asked to stay for an hour and a half after the ride.
Weight and Age Restrictions
Ages 12 to 18 must wear a helmet.
Anyone under the age of 12 can have a lead horse ride, but due to safety reasons, these young riders cannot go on the trails. There is a weight limit of 270lb.
Horseback Riding Lessons
Horseback riding lessons are available from basic lessons to more advanced lessons. Call to schedule a lesson.
The Horseback Rides
Two rides are available each day:
- The 11:30 am – 1 hour long
- The 1:30 pm – 2 hours long
Destination rides are also available:
- Crystal Falls – 3 hours long
- Red Rock – 4 hours long
The Wander About is a 6-hour ride. During this ride, you will see Crystal Falls, Red Rock, Box Canyon, Parish Rock as well as Airplane Rock.
